🌩️ About Weather Nerdy

Your daily dose of curiosity, with a side of storms.

Weather Nerdy is what happens when you mix real meteorological expertise with a love for lightning facts, jaw-dropping storm stories, and a deep desire to make weather actually interesting. No fear-mongering. No boring forecasts. Just smart, fun, slightly obsessive content for people who’ve ever said, “Whoa, look at that cloud.”

We’re here for the curious, the storm chasers at heart, the science lovers, and the everyday folks who just want to understand what the heck is happening in the sky, and why it matters.

Meet the Weather Nerd Behind It All

Weather Nerdy is the brainchild of founder Ric Kearbey, a veteran meteorologist who’s spent several decades bringing weather and climate science to life on TV screens across the country.

Ric’s work has:

  • Been trusted by the St. Louis Cardinals (yeah, during the game)

  • Shown up on Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight, and top stations in Tampa and St. Louis

  • Helped guide forecasts for the Super Bowl, The Masters, and everyday life across the U.S.

  • Been featured in newspapers, national radio, and networks that needed a weather brain who could actually explain stuff

But Ric isn’t just a guy with a green screen and a great hair day. He’s a certified meteorologist, FAA-licensed drone pilot, and master weather storyteller. He’s reported on climate warming for over a decade and even helped launch the "Our Changing Climate" initiative on CBS’s 10 Tampa Bay.

When he’s not nerding out on storm data or chasing clouds with a drone, Ric’s building Weather Nerdy into a new kind of weather experience, one that teaches, surprises, entertains, and sometimes even makes you say “Whoa, I didn’t know that.”

Why Weather Nerdy Exists

Because weather is wild. Because climate matters.
And because science doesn’t have to be boring.
At Weather Nerdy, we believe in keeping it smart, keeping it weird (sometimes), and always keeping it real.

Welcome to the fun side of the forecast.
